چکیده
The Nb-V-Ti-N-C system microelements coupling precipitation behavior in high strength naval steel was thermodynamically analyzed. effects of micron/nano particles on the microstructure, mechanical properties, and corrosion resistance were also studied by an situ scanning electron microscopy (SEM) tensile test, transmission (TEM) analysis, electrochemical polarization measurements. results show that solid solution amount Nb, V, Ti, N, or C decreases steels as temperature decreases. Carbonitrides begin to precipitate at 1506.39 °C N1 steel, carbonitrides are nano-scale. Meanwhile, 1628.74 N2 which is 116.69 higher than corresponding liquidus 1512.05 °C; with micron scale formed metal melt. test revealed increase titanium content from 0.05% 0.1%, increases while elongation SEM indicated lower plasticity associated micron-scale, micro crack sources under stress. Polarization pitting may easily occur abnormally large-sized (Nb, Ti)(C, N) carbonitrides.

THE EFFECT OF TI CONTENTS ON THE AMOUNTS OF INCLUSIONS FORMATION AND MECHANICAL PROPERTIES OF C300 HIGH STRENGTH STEEL
In this research the influence of Ti contents on the amounts of inclusions formation and mechanical properties of a high alloy high strength steel, C300, has been investigated. For this purpose several bars were casted under the same solidification conditions, but different amounts of Ti element. All the seven casted bars were homogenized at 1200°C for a period of 2 hours. Then, they were immed...
متن کاملEffect of Nb on the Microstructure, Mechanical Properties, Corrosion Behavior, and Cytotoxicity of Ti-Nb Alloys
In this paper, the effects of Nb addition (5-20 wt %) on the microstructure, mechanical properties, corrosion behavior, and cytotoxicity of Ti-Nb alloys were investigated with the aim of understanding the relationship between phase/microstructure and various properties of Ti-xNb alloys. Phase/microstructure was analyzed using X-ray diffraction (XRD), SEM, and TEM. The results indicated that the...

Steel containing 0.03% carbon, 1.35% copper and 0.84% nickel had yield strength in the 540-625 MPa (78-90 Ksi) range depending on thickness, ultimate tensile strength in the 625-690 MPa (90100 Ksi) range, and 25-30% elongation when air cooled after hot rolling. No brittle heat-affected zone was formed during manual or automatic submerged arc welding without pre-heating or postheating. The fract...

This study was launched to investigate the effects of heating rate and aging parameters on the kinetic of precipitation reactions in a high alloy high strength steel having Ni, Co, Mo and Ti. For this purpose, as quenched specimens were subjected to three types of aging methods with different heating rates. These methods consisted of aging in Pb bath, salt bath, and furnace at different aging c...

The thermo-mechanical control processing (TMCP) of low carbon (C) Nb-Ti-containing HSLA steel with different cooling rates from 5 to 20 ◦C/s was simulated using a Gleeble 3500 system. The samples’ microstructure was characterized and the tensile properties measured. The results show that a microstructure mainly consisting of quasi-polygonal ferrite (QPF), granular bainitic ferrite (GBF), and ma...
